Why this page exists
Most off-brand ellipticals claim “300–400 lb capacity” with no published test method, no durability data, and often not even a real website. Navymov takes the opposite approach. For LB007, the first vertical elliptical on the market, we publish our structural test standard openly and show exactly how we arrive at our 250 lb rating.

1. Overview – Realistic Rating, Transparent Testing

LB007 is designed for serious everyday training in a compact, portable form. Instead of inflating the load number, we chose a realistic Max Load 250 lb (113 kg) and then built an internal test protocol based on the principles of:

  • ASTM F2810 – Specification for Elliptical Trainers
  • ASTM F2811 – Test Methods for Elliptical Trainers
  • ISO 20957-9 – Elliptical Trainer Safety Requirements

Our engineering focus is on the parts that truly carry and transfer load: the couplers, crank bearings, the two folding stands, their hinges, and the locking-pin connections.

Key Design Targets

  • Support a 250 lb user with generous safety margin.
  • Survive years of daily use without structural failure.
  • Keep the frame compact and portable, not over-built and heavy.
  • Provide smooth motion with minimal play in the couplers and bearings.

Key Structural Tests

  • Static load test: 2.5 × rated load (625 lb).
  • Endurance test: 1,000,000 cycles at 250 lb equivalent load.
  • Focus inspections on couplers, bearings, stand hinges, locking pins.
  • Post-test functional check under real pedaling conditions.

2. ASTM F2810-Based Test Standard (Summary)

Below is the summary version of our internal test standard. The full English and Chinese document is available for download at the end of this page.

Item Parameter Notes
Rated max user weight 250 lb (113 kg) Printed on the machine as “Max Load 250 lb — ASTM F2810-Based”.
Static test load 625 lb (284 kg) 2.5 × rated load, applied vertically to the pedal at mid-stroke.
Cyclic endurance 1,000,000 cycles Equivalent to many years of typical daily home use.
Test frequency 1.0–1.6 Hz (60–96 cycles/min) Slightly faster than normal user cadence, giving a conservative test.
Focus components Couplers, bearings, folding-stand hinges, locking-pin connections These parts carry and transfer the real structural load.

3. Static Load Test – Pedal & Frame Structure

To verify structural strength, we fix one pedal at the mid-stroke position and gradually apply a 625 lb vertical test load using a steel plate that covers the normal foot area.

  • The full load is held for 60 seconds.
  • After unloading, the machine is inspected for cracks, permanent deformation, and interference during a full stroke.
  • We also verify that the couplers still operate smoothly and that the folding stands can be opened, folded and locked normally. Locking pins must insert and remove without binding.

Acceptance criteria: no cracks, no functional damage, and permanent deformation at the pedal surface not exceeding 3 mm.

4. 1,000,000-Cycle Endurance Test

The LB007 structure is then tested on a durability rig. An equivalent 250 lb user load is applied to the pedals while the crank runs continuously between 60 and 96 cycles per minute.

  • The test continues until 1,000,000 full cycles are completed.
  • Every 100,000 cycles we stop the machine and inspect:
    • Couplers and their pins
    • Crank and pedal bearings
    • Folding-stand hinges
    • Locking-pin holes and interfaces
  • We measure any increase in play at the pedal tip as an indicator of bearing wear and joint clearance.

Acceptance criteria: no cracks; increase in bearing play not greater than 1.0 mm; stands and locking pins function normally with no excessive looseness.

5. Post-Test Functional Check

Structural tests are only meaningful if the machine still feels right for the user. After completing the static and endurance tests, we re-assemble the LB007 and perform a real-world functional check:

  • The machine must run smoothly across all resistance levels.
  • No abnormal noise, rubbing, or structural looseness is allowed.
  • The folding stands must still deploy, fold and lock with normal hand force.

6. What This Means for You

For most people, a 10–20 minute LB007 workout at a moderate level already delivers a strong training load. Over a year of regular use this adds up to more than 100,000 cycles. Our 1,000,000-cycle test subjects the structure to many years of use in a compressed time, at a realistic 250 lb user weight.

In other words, when you see “Max Load 250 lb — ASTM F2810-Based” printed on the side of the machine, it is not a marketing decoration. It is backed by a published, repeatable test protocol and real metal being pushed to its limits.

Note: The protocol is based on ASTM F2810 / F2811 and ISO 20957-9 concepts. It is an internal Navymov standard and does not constitute third-party certification.

8. Looking Ahead

Navymov was created with a simple idea: fitness equipment should be compact, mechanically elegant, and honestly engineered. LB007 is our first vertical elliptical, and this page is part of a much larger plan – to build an evidence-based platform around muscle-driven circulation, low-impact training, and long-term joint health.

As we ship more machines and gather real-world data, we will continue to update this testing page. Our goal is simple: when you see the Navymov name, you know exactly how the machine was designed, built and tested.
